|
António Rijo was superb against Austin. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the CL in strikeouts with 94, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 5-2 Pikes victory. Cristián Escobar earned his 25th save in 25 chances. Seattle is now 47-34.
Rijo was effective for Seattle, seldom allowing the River Sharks to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 102 pitches over 7 innings. He limited Austin to just 2 runs on 2 hits.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Rijo.
