Rocks Stay Hot With 7-4 Win
|
Niagara Falls got a terrific performance from designated hitter Tomás Estrada, but it wasn't enough to beat the Plymouth Rocks. Plymouth won the Play Rocks Field contest, 7-4. Estrada was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 3 runs. Walt Burton got the win, improving to 14-8. He worked 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. The first-place Rocks have won 7 consecutive games.
Also pitching in for Plymouth was catcher Víctor Serrano, who hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Serrano went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I like the roll we're on," said Plymouth manager Jaime Torres.
