Kingfish End Hernández's Streak Friday, May 8th, 2026 Jorge Hernández, center fielder for the Nantucket Orcas, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Kenosha Kingfish. Not only had they stopped his 22-game hitting streak, they had beaten Nantucket 7-1, too. Speaking with the media after the game, Hernández said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." So far this year in 31 games Hernández is hitting .329 with 7 home runs, 34 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
