Méndez Wins APL Player of the Week Trophy Monday, August 24th, 2026 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Appalachian League, but last week Richard Méndez of the Beaverton Bronze Souls reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Méndez rocked opposing pitching for a .500 average (13-for-26), no home runs and 4 RBIs to come away with the award. Currently Méndez has 9 home runs and a .319 batting average. |
