Gregory Smacks 5 Hits for Chargers Friday, May 9th, 2025 Steven Gregory got the glory and the headlines today, while the Bishop Amat HS got the win. The H.H. Dow HS right fielder easily handled Bishop Amat HS pitching, going 5 for 6, but the Chargers came out on the short end of the score 23-19. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "I'm glad I got the hits, but I would trade three or four of 'em for a win... maybe even all 5 of 'em." The Chargers skipper added, "Well, it's a shame we didn't get the victory today, especially with his standout performance. Let's just hope our team can do better tomorrow." Steven Gregory singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Bryan Vaughan in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. To date Gregory has chalked up a .365 average with 7 home runs, driven in 28 runs and scored 30 times. |
