Eardley Strokes 5 Hits Tuesday, September 16th, 2025 The Cougars whipped the Esquires 14-2 at Legion Ball Park and John Eardley had a big hand in the win. The Cougars catcher came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Eardley and a tough day for Eau Claire. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Eardley delivered today -- 5-for-6 is outstanding in any league. John Eardley singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Tom Hale in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
