Hits Galore: Acevedo Drills 5 Hits Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 It was a sensational day at the plate for Oliver Acevedo as he led the charge to a 22-6 win over the Rebels. The Rio Grande catcher was pure misery for the Wilmington pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 7 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Rebels told BNN reporters after the game, "Acevedo put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Oliver Acevedo hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. So far in 2025 Acevedo is batting .289 with 1 home run, 20 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 26 hits in 90 at-bats and a .313 OBP. |
