5-Hit Blitz by Richmond's Ray Monday, September 1st, 2025 What a day for Jack Ray of the Richmond Flairs! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Topeka pitching apart at Delorimier Stadium and sparked the Flairs to a 21-9 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Ray told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Jack Ray singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This season Ray is hitting at a .338 pace with 6 home runs, 45 RBIs and has scored 37 times. |
