Southern League Announces August's Top Pitcher Sunday, September 1st, 2024 Andy Hickey hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Southern League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In August the Salem starter earned a 5-1 mark in 6 starts. He threw 36.2 innings, struck out 50 and compiled a solid 2.45 ERA. Hickey has gone 10-6 this season with an ERA of 2.93 and 178 strikeouts in 162.2 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .215 against him. |
