5 Hits for Trappers Padilla Thursday, September 5th, 2024 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Jaime Padilla -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Missions Ballpark and paced the Trappers to a 17-3 win over the San Jose Missions. After his dynamite batting performance the Spokane shortstop told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Jaime Padilla grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Looking at his season stats, Padilla has compiled a .258 batting average and a .315 on-base percentage, while hitting 9 home runs and driving in 37 runs. |
