5-for-7 Game for Ortíz Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 5 hits in 7 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Anastasio Ortíz of the Birmingham Barons had a sensational game against Wisconsin at Snake Park. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 14-0 shellacking of the Timber Rattlers. In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did ,it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off. Right, skipper?" Anastasio Ortíz singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dave Carbone in the 6th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. Thus far in 2024 Ortíz is hitting .325 with 13 home runs, 44 RBIs, 70 runs scored and has compiled a .379 OBP. |
