New York Deals Backstrom to St Charles for Fernández Monday, July 31st, 2023 The Knights and Sheens confirmed this afternoon that a trade had been agreed upon. In the deal, New York will get 23-year-old 2B Pedro Fernández, 26-year-old minor league RHP Jason Taylor and 26-year-old minor league RHP Dale Downs, while St Charles will receive 28-year-old 1B Judson Backstrom. Looking at his present stats, Backstrom has compiled a .342 batting average in 103 games with a .400 on-base percentage, while hitting 20 home runs and driving in 81 runs. Thus far in 2023 Fernández is hitting .235 with no home runs, 3 RBIs, 4 runs scored and has compiled a .278 OBP. |
