Ouch! Cristóbal Gómez Shelved by Injury Friday, May 12th, 2023 Whether he wants it or not, Cristóbal Gómez of the Texas Tech Red Raiders will be getting some R & R -- rest and relaxation. The right fielder was hurt in today's Red Raiders-Cavaliers game while running the bases. Team officials announced after the game that Gómez had suffered a strained hip muscle and would be out of action for 4-5 months. In his stats this season, Gómez has posted a batting average of .210 with 33 hits in 157 at-bats, 4 home runs and 20 RBIs. He has also scored 24 runs, walked 18 times and compiled a .294 OBP. |
